English Activity Organizer

             



14 March 2011, I was a representative of the university. I have joined
with faculty of Education to provide an activity for students at Ban Klong
Khwae Scool. The activity ws focused manily on English, the best one was
about showing their opinion through a picture on the topic of "HOW CAN
WE ALLEVIATE THE GLOBAL WARMIMG". 
               All students told me that, they would like to join another great activity like this.

Question tag

Two main important rules are;
1. Changing of pronoun (we not use the same pronoun written in the sentence.
2. If the sentences are positive, we must change in to negative by using question
tag.

Positive sentence
         - verb ธรรมดา ให้ใช้ do, does  
Ex: We go to school, don't we?
-,modal verb หรือ verb ช่วย ให้ใช้ verb เหล่านั้นได้เลย
Ex: He can swim, can't he
- ถ้าประธานเป็น This/That ให้เปลี่ยนเป็น it
Ex: This is your pencil, isn't it?
- ถ้าประธานเป็น These/Those ให้เปลี่ยนเป็น they
Ex: These are her books, aren't they?
          -ถ้าประธานเป็น There ในประโยคก็ยังคงใช้ there
Ex: There is a meeting today, isn't there?

Negative sentence
- ประโยคที่มี never, hardly, scarcely, rarely, seldom เป็นประโยคปฏิเสธ ดังนั้น tag question จะเป็นบอกเล่า
Ex: The Browns seldom eat out, do they?
          -ประโยคที่มี Few, Little เป็นประโยคปฏิเสธ ดังนั้น tag question จะเป็นบอกเล่า
Ex: Few people knew the answer, did they?
         - ในกรณีที่เป็น Let's tag question ใช้ shall we ไม่ว่าจะเป็นประโยคปฏิเสธหรือบอกเล่า
Ex: Let's have a game of tennis, shall we?

Exercise: Put the correct form of tag question.
1. We shall be going to Australia for a vacation next month, shan't we ?
2.   Andrew is willing to assist in serving the customers, isn't he ?
3.   Gin shouldn't have come here, shouldn't she ?
4.   The President will be present at the President Star Charity Show, won't he ?
5.   Fatimah can answer the history essay question, can't she ?
6.   Elisa went to visit the doctor yesterday, didn't she ?
7.   It wouldn't require a lot of your time to help make the bed, would it ?
8.   Carol hasn't done anything right, has she ?
9.   The fireman is going to help the poor man down the ladder, isn't he ?
10.   The teachers themselves must be punctual, mustn't they ?

Being an English Teacher (Prathom 4-6)

             The first period that I met them, I knew that some students may not sure at me.   But I do not know why. It may be, I am a teacher who they have not seen before. I did not know who can I consult and make me get more confident. So, I have thought of some strategies that my teachers have taught me in many classes about how to make the familiarity with new students.
              Then, I tried to ask them some general questions before learning like: how are you?, what is a nice day today, today is really hot, do you any pets, etc. And I had received some feedback. When I felt that my students were ready to learn, I began.  
               While learning the primary students were active. They tried to give me some answer. Their participation was really good. Even though, some of their answers were incorrect. From those answers could tell me whether they understood. So, I gave them the correct answer.
              I think that, telling them the answer can be a good way for them to know the correct answer immediately and I think, they can remember and can understand better than finding the correct answer by themselves. If I were them, getting the true answer is my desire. One of the many ways of my learning, I can remember better and more consistent if I hear and listen from my teacher.

Being an English Teacher

I have to teach both kindergarten and Primary level students, I am quite serious. Because I know I am not good in being kindergarten’s teacher on any subjects. So, I have to change my character, I have be more calm, I have to teach them to write A, B, C,…,etc. Oh! Those are my big problems and really difficult for me to be the kindergarten’s teacher. Then, I have a few students in my first class. I asked them, “Can you write A – Z” Do you know what answer that I heard? Yes, most of them cannot write a – z. But they can pronounce all letters very well. So, I taught them about pronunciation and appointed them to practice letters writing. Some of them can write, some cannot write, some can write some letters, of course, that was my big project “how to teach them to remember about how to write all letters”
                   A method that I have adapted to use in my teaching was to appoint students write more and more, pronounce and pronounce. I think that, this method can make students both remember and write all letters. After I have used this method for 3-4 times, I have always noticed and I have touched a result that many students have developed their skill based on A-Z. Of course, I have been really delighted, even though I have to pay more times to teach them just only writing A-Z, but the result is to make me proud of my teaching.
                   Another important problem which made me quite serious was: many students always talked with their friend when there were many students in class.  I know this was a basic problem and many teachers must confront with it.
                   A way that all teachers can use to control students when they do not pay their attention into lessons is to decrease their point. Fortunately, the manager in the school had suggested me to solve that problem by using the above method.
                 Unbelievable, when I used that method with my students, all of them were quiet and pay their attention into the lesson. This could help me to teach easier. Whenever, I confronted with students’ talking problem, I always used that method and I could control my students.

The Role of Students in the Faculty of Education to Support the Understanding of ASEAN Association
Ladies and gentlemen, let’s me introduce myself first. My name is Weerasak  Thaweemuang. I am an English Major third year student, Faculty of Education, Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat University. I am really proud to hear and share my opinion through this topic. According to the principle of this organization which focus on the democracy system, jurisprudence-law keeper, admiration - human rights and the basic freedom which will lead us into the unity of the Asian association.
When we talk about the ASEAN with Thailand we have to know what this abbreviation stands for. ASEAN stands for Association of Southeast Asian Nations. There are ten member countries including Thailand, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippine, Singapore and Viet Nam on the slogan that "One Vision, One Identity, One Community". Moreover, they also have the important logo and flag. Of course, everyone has seen, but do you know the hidden meaning.

                        In conclusion, no-pain-no-gain principle is an inspiration of all leaders to construct the strong ways including; the youth should have better education and all education problems must be solved by the leaders and the administration teams. If all problems are solved, the new generation may be the efficient group to develop our societies. In addition, they can renew many things for better countries. Nevertheless, speculation on our future does not depend on only education, but also social and sufficient economy. If the youth are well educated, who they are and are satisfied to live at a sufficient level which is suitable with their status, I believe that they can be the new generation that can lead all ASEAN countries to step forward to the next stage of evolution.

Social also seem to be so far
But in my mind, shines by us visionaries
All Education, social and sufficient economy
